Pray For A Hangnail
Well, God has been allowing me to have a very busy week. Let’s see, it started out with my husband going to the emergency room getting treated for his third kidney stone in a year (of course this is two weeks before our new health insurance kicks in so we’ll have a lovely several thousand dollar bill coming up). Then Friday my 5 year old son got the stomach flu in the evening (which means mommy & daddy don’t sleep and the sheets have to be washed all night long because 5 year olds refuse to run to the toilet or throw up in the throw up pot that is sitting right next to them…they must do it on the sheets), then Saturday my 2 year old son got the stomach flu (which again means mommy & daddy don’t sleep and again the sheets), then Sunday and Monday we we were still waiting for that pesky little kidney stone to pass (which still hasn’t passed…come on it’s only 4mm…I passed an 8lb baby three times!!). Then Monday after such a wonderful evening of having the whole family over for dinner, I fell off my son’s bunk bed while carrying him and to make sure I protected my son, I took the full beating from the relentless floor. I cracked my ankle and bruised my booty but my son felt great wondering why mommy was playing at that time of night. (He calls it playing and I’m calling it dumb mommy should have just called daddy up to move him like I was suppose to.) So I was laid up all day Tuesday with my ankle the size of a tennis ball and my 2 year old decides to get the stomach flu all over again. Except this time was a little different. The first time he had the flu, he was real lethargic and snuggly and wanted to be on his mommy’s lap all day long. But not this time. Nope, he’d do his little upchuck business and then go right into his terrible twos behavior as if nothing ever happened. So that means more sheet laundry and carpet shampooing and rising from my comfortable recliner about a thousand times ..one legged and in writhing pain. Then Wednesday, my 2 year old is all better, but now I have the flu…worse than both of my sons combined. About twenty trips to the lovely toilet and every single bone in my body screaming with “flu pain”. The only good thing about my flu bug was I lost 5lbs and it took only one day!!! Now today, I am all better but my ten year old son asked to go to bed early and hardly touched his dinner. Two huge tell-tale signs for this particular son that he will be waking up with the flu bug some time in the middle of the night. And yea for us, he’s sleeping in our bed because we are remodeling and have his bed covered with stuff for a few more days. So if any of you have a direct line to God (i.e. maybe my friend the pastor’s wife…remember what we said last week??? Pray for a hangnail!!!) Just when I think a mommy can only take so much, mommy keeps taking it. And now my ankle is still the size of a tennis ball but it has taken a back burner so I can care for the rest of my family. And that is how God designed us to be…but God, could you let me have the weekend problem free??? Mommy needs to recuperate!

About
My name is Jo Jo. I am happily married and mommy to three little boys. In my leisure time (ha ha) I am a habitual news watcher with my favorite being Fox News…gotta get Hannitized. But really, I strongly believe in watching multiple sources of news to be the most accurately informed as I possibly can. And that is my hope for my fellow Americans. If there is one idea I could impress in everyone’s mind it would be to educate, educate, educate. Just because something is written does not mean it is true. It is our duty to look into issues that are important and utilize the multiple resources around us and then make an informed decision based on education.
But I am also woman, hear me roar. Which means I have lots of thoughts, ideas, emotions, experiences and opinions on every topic known to man which is where this blog comes in to play. I decided to write the blog “jojosays” because I have found that a lot of my husband’s and my friends will often ask my opinion and advice on situations in their lives. Which leads me to believe they respect my opinion, I hope! And then there are a lot of times I am bursting at the seams with thoughts on the events going on all around us and I don’t see anyone in the media saying what they really want to say…very scripted and politically correct as you know…blah! And then of course there is my household of all men which sometimes gets me thinking I should be writing a comic book or something. So here we are. With ALL issues at hand.
Jo Jo says….let’s have fun, let’s not be afraid to be honest with our opinions, but let’s remember to be kind as we are all brothers and sisters.
